The Fool
The invention and implementation of simulated sensation, in it’s time was hailed as an end to drug use. Why would you buy heroin when you could plug into a system and feel the effects without the chemical dependency? With sufficient programming and medical advancements you could even compensate for the body’s own endorphin release (though an addictive personality will still construct an emotional dependency). Unfortunately drug use is still almost as popular today as it was before sim-rigs became a household item. You can’t run sims while you are working, and their inherent falsehood will never truly replace reality. No matter how far technology comes, some people will always slit though the cracks, and turn to two-bit drug dealers and swindlers for a quick fix.
