A crisis of faith.

    A crisis of faith.

It seems we’ve fallen on hard times here at Mad Ink.

The store doesn’t seem like it’ll ever be up and running, and The City of Fever tarot cards are proving more and more difficult to produce. Conventions are costing more and earning us less, and I’ve had to succumb to Twitter and Facebook, both of which I find morally draining and the opposite of socializing. (Aaron Sorkin said it best: Social Networking sites are like Socializing as Reality TV is to reality.) We’ve lost URL addresses… it’s been one thing after another.

But saddest of all, this week Aodhan turned in his resignation.

Now Aodhan and I have been working together for over a year now, and it’s been a great run. Last year we had a system which worked pretty well. We did as many comics over the summer as possible, and then rode it out till Christmas where we did the next batch, and thus did them around his school schedule.

Unfortunately there were delays as there always is, and this summer we found ourselves scrambling to keep up. About a month ago we lost our buffer and have been unable to get it back, and Aodhan feels that he can no-longer juggle a once a week deadline and a college course load.

Understandable, but eminently regrettable. Aodhan has graciously agreed to give me another 4 comics (one month’s worth of story) to give me a chance (however small) to find a new artist before I start missing updates.

4 comics means we can (with some quick re-writes) finish up at least a chunk of the current story-line. We’ll be skipping or postponing the 6th Confessional, but we’ll at least get through the comic con story.

But finding a new artist is going to be an uphill battle. Aodhan is leaving some pretty big shoes to fill.

    I’ll miss you dude.

Howdy, Stranger!
